This Privacy Policy explains how Official Driving School, LLC operated by Easy Method, Inc. (“Official Driving School,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses and shares information when you visit officialdrivingschool.com, including our Michigan and Ohio sections (the “Site”), contact us, or enroll in our driver education programs. It applies to the whole Site. By using the Site you agree to this Policy.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us
Contact and inquiry forms — name, email address, phone number, the location or program you are asking about, and anything you write in the message.
Enrollment and student accounts — when you enroll, you are taken to our student portal (see Section 4). Information entered there — student name, date of birth, address, parent/guardian details, driver’s permit information, payment details and scheduling — is collected by that portal on our behalf.
Chat — messages you type into the chat assistant on the Site, and the contact details you share there.
Careers and instructor applications — the information you submit when applying to work with us.
Email and phone — anything you send us directly.
Information collected automatically
Device and usage data — IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, links clicked, referring page, and approximate location, collected through cookies and similar technologies (see Section 3).
Advertising data — whether you arrived from one of our ads and whether you completed an inquiry or enrollment, used to measure our advertising.
Students under 18
Most of our students are teenagers. We collect a minor’s information for enrollment only from, or with the consent of, a parent or legal guardian. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through the Site. If you believe a child under 13 has provided information to us, contact us at the address in Section 9 and we will delete it.
2. How we use information
To respond to inquiries, schedule classes and lessons, and provide driver education services.
To process enrollment and payments, and to meet state recordkeeping requirements for driver education providers in Michigan and Ohio.
To send service messages — confirmations, schedule changes, certificates, reminders.
To send marketing about our programs and locations, where permitted. You can opt out at any time (Section 6).
To operate, secure and improve the Site, and to measure the performance of our website and advertising.
To comply with law, protect our rights, and prevent fraud or misuse.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.
3. Cookies and analytics
The Site uses cookies and similar technologies. Some are necessary for the Site to work; others help us understand how the Site is used and how our advertising performs:
Google Analytics (Google LLC) — collects usage data so we can see which pages and locations visitors are interested in. Google’s privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy. You can opt out with Google’s browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
Google Ads conversion tracking — tells us when a visitor who clicked one of our ads contacts or enrolls with us. You can manage ad personalization at adssettings.google.com.
Chat assistant (Jotform) — sets cookies to keep your chat session open.
Embedded content — pages with YouTube videos or maps may set cookies from those providers
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking cookies may affect parts of the Site. You can change your choices at any time using the cookie settings link in the footer.
We do not currently respond to browser “Do Not Track” signals.
4. Student portal and other third-party services
Enrollment, scheduling, payment and the student login run on a portal operated by TDSM / The Driving School Manager, a third-party provider. When you click Michigan Student Login, Ohio Student Login or an enrollment link, you leave the Site and enter that provider’s system, which has its own privacy policy and terms. Payment card details are entered directly with the portal’s payment processor and are not stored on the Site.
We also use service providers for website hosting, email delivery, form processing, chat, and analytics. These providers may process your information only to provide services to us.
5. How we share information
Service providers listed above, under contract, to operate the Site and our business.
State agencies — the Michigan Department of State and the Ohio Department of Public Safety / Bureau of Motor Vehicles, and their licensed driver-training programs, as required to certify course completion and maintain required records.
Partner schools — where you enroll in a class held at a partner high school, we may share scheduling information with that school.
Legal — when required by law, subpoena or court order, or to protect the safety and rights of students, staff or the public.
Business transfers — if our business is sold or merged, information may transfer to the new owner under this Policy.
6. Your choices
Marketing emails — use the unsubscribe link in any message or contact us.
Text messages — reply STOP to any text from us. Message and data rates may apply.
Access, correction and deletion — contact us (Section 9). We will verify your identity before acting. We may keep records that state driver-education rules require us to retain.
Cookies — see Section 3.
7. State privacy rights
Michigan and Ohio do not currently have general consumer-privacy statutes. If you are a resident of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Texas, Oregon, Montana, Utah or another state with a consumer-privacy law, you may have the right to know what personal information we hold about you, to correct or delete it, to obtain a copy, and to opt out of targeted advertising or “sales” of personal information. We do not sell personal information. To exercise these rights, contact us at the address in Section 9; you may use an authorized agent where your state allows. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
8. Data retention and security
We keep inquiry information for 24 months and student records for as long as state driver-education rules require, then delete or anonymize them. We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards — including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and access controls — to protect information. No website or system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
